CV

Federico was born in 1988 in Rovereto, a town near Lake Garda in the northeastern part of Italy. He received a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Padua (Italy) in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
He spent the second year of his M.Sc. degree at the Biomedical Engineering and Informatics department of Aalborg University (Denmark), where he completed his master thesis, entitled “Decoding Movement Direction for Brain-Computer Interfaces using Depth and Surface EEG Recordings”. The project was a joint collaboration between Aalborg University, the Department of Neurorehabilitation Engineering at the University Medical Center Göttingen and the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center INSERM.

Federico is currently working as PhD researcher at Cochlear Technology Centre Belgium and for the Research Group Experimental Oto-rhino-laryngology (KU Leuven), investigating the enhancement of coding strategies for semi- and totally-implantable cochlear implants.

Research

Digital signal processing in the context of cochlear implants and hearing aids technologies; speech enhancement, noise reduction and sound coding strategies and their respective clinical evaluation.
