CV

I was born in Athens, Greece in 1982. I received my engineering diploma (2007) and my PhD (2013) from the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, University of Patras. From 2007 to 2013, I was working on my PhD on "Modelling, analysis and processing of room transfer functions under reverberant conditions" under the supervision of professor John Mourjopoulos, the head of the Audio & Acoustic Technology Group part of the Wire Communications Laboratory.

I have carried out nine months of research at the Engineering Acoustics group of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) supervised by Professor Dr. Finn Jacobsen under the framework of Marie Curie Host Fellowships for Early Stage Research Training (EST). Then, I carried out another ten months of research as a visitor PhD student at Philips Research (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) working on ambient telephony technologies under the supervision of Dr. Aki Harma and Dr. Steven van de Par. I spent three months (October - December 2011) at the Institute of Physics of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg under the supervision of Dr. Steven van de Par working on the extraction of room/position information from binaural signals.

Since October 2013, I am working at the University of Zurich as a postdoctoral researcher, within the framework of the ICanHear project in the group of Prof. Norbert Dillier.

Apart from science and engineering, in my free time i enjoy listening/playing/trying to compose music. I have taken guitar (jazz/classical) and traditional greek instruments classes for several years.

Memberships: Audio Engineering society (AES), IEEE society, the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics, Young Acoustician Network, Technical Chamber of Greece.
