A3-ESR: Combination of communication devices (e.g. Smartphones) with hearing aids for a better understanding in difficult acoustic situations

Communication devices such as smart phones are part of the daily life of more and more people. They capture sound, especially speech, and enhance these signals to a high quality, e.g. by internal beamforming. In this project we aim to combine the acoustic signals which are captured by these devices with the hearing aid signals and hearing aid beam formers, e.g. by approaches of blind source separation, multi-channel Wiener filtering or distributed arrays and provide hearing aid users a better signal quality and speech intelligibility.
